How does one enable input? via unimixpm? Is there another way?

How can I toggle aggression off? With Unimix or Unimixpm. Unimixpm opens
by saying it cannot find its ini file and will use defaults. The program
itself has no options except the volume settings for various channels.

I can record and playback with Dtape, but I don't understand how to set
the recording level so that I avoid red indicators while recording. The
volume control seems to be for playback volume, or is it? Should I set
recording level via Unimixpm?
