My original statements still apply. Now, if you are truely concerned that
someone might be capturing your TCP/IP at exactly the time you upload that
sensitive piece of data, you do need some sort of secure connection. The
typical solution is ftp under ssh, aka sftp. This encrypts both passwords
and data, but does require support at the hosting site.

That's a lot to read and not really much of a tutorial. It's like
learning a language from a dictionary.

What I would recommend is downloading Paul's apache distro, install it and
start it. With the supplied config, it will run out of the box.
If you want database and php too, there's also APM4OS2
http://www.amp4ecs.de/index.php
which is an preconfigured setup simpliar to LAMP on Linux. It was
announced in OS2Voice and I saw it demo'ed at Warpstock and it does what
it is supposed to do.
