History: The problem has its origins when I was experimenting
with LVM to create a 10GB partition. While that partition was
defined, I accidentally hit (hard) the CD reader while it was
open. In addition to a big scratch on my leg, the CD reader
was a total loss (I could not even close it without forcing it)
So I had the CD reader replaced. But now I cannot re-start
the computer:
1. In trying to boot there is a message that it cannot be done
(I can copy that message if it is required)
2. By booting from the CD I get to the point where one defines
the volume. I get the following:
Z:
size 7
File system: FAT
Type Primary
Notes startable
(nothing is listed on available volumes)
3. Using the eCS utility diskettes
One of the messages is:
SYS732: IBMInt13.i13 found a drive greater than 8GB
LVM flashes an empty white screen and returns to the a: prompt
Inserting the eCS CD rom gives me the contents
of volume c: but an attempt to execute (exe and CMD)
generally produces the message:
SYS0193:A:......exe/cmd cannot be run in a OS/2 session
I have tried a number of other options including an attempt to
run DFSEE but to no avail. Can someone help?
PS: I am running my backup eCS 1.2
