Not very. It's Windoze, after all. Most routers
these days have some sort of firewall built-in. On
top of that, I'd say get AVG Free for the viruses,
trojans, and worms. For spyware, the current "for
pay" choice might be SpySweeper by Webroot. Not
expensive, particularly if you take advantage of
periodic special offers. For free, I'd say the tandem
of Ad-Aware and SpyBot. None of these will do the
job unless the new malware definitions are downloaded
on a fairly regular basis.
