I replaced my NIC the other day with a Linksys EG1032 gigabit card. It
seems to work just fine with the Gomi dp820a09 driver obtained from the
os2warp.be site, with just one small reservation...
When I boot the system, and it attempts to start Req & Peer (using
rxautost.exe), I get the following errors:
The REQUESTER service is not started.
The REQUESTER service is starting......................
The REQUESTER service could not be started.
NET3056: A system error has occurred.
For more information, type HELP NET3056.
NET3502: OS/2 error 54 has occurred.
SYS0054: The network is busy or is out of resources.
Press any key when ready . . .
After rxautost ends, I can clear the error screen and enter "net start
peer" on a command line and it works just fine.
Could this be a result of the fact that my router is not yet gigabit
capable? I can see the activity light for that port blinking at about a
1 Hz rate after I boot the system. Req & Peer will start after it comes
on solid.
ISTR a way to tell a nic which speed to use, but I can't find it now.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
