Does connecting through a router instead of a direct connection slow you
down at all or cause any other problems?

I have a small print server that plugs into the parallel port on one of my
printers and connects through a router, but I find it is slower than a
printer connected directly through a parallel port cable. That may be
because of something in my particular setup, though.
