Doodle's Screen Saver understands how to lower power consumption based to
the power modes the monitor supports.
Some of these modes may include a dimmed image mode the requires less
power to display. This is unlikely to exist for CRT monitors, but is
likely to exist for LCD monitors.
The way screen savers typically save power is by putting the monitor into
a standby or power off mode after some preset time of no activity. Image
display is pretty much impossible in this case.
