I probably should be doing some file-level backup
(also), along the lines that you mention . . . but I
haven't for several years. Just whole partition +
whole drive backup, using DFSEE. It's more drastic,
more of a blunt instrument, and won't help restore
some specific items, but that's where I'm at at the
moment. I try to keep a couple of clone drives fairly
current, storing one off-site.
