There was a time when I had backup utilities and tape drives. Those
days are long gone.

The easiest backup today is a storage box on a P-P. I must assume that
by now everyone has at least one old left over computer. A P1 works
fine with OS/2. I have an AMD 550 that runs current OS/2. And I have
had OS/2 see drives larger than the BIOS could see.

The old computer is free. I just bought two 500G HDDs for $80 each.
Simple routers are about $40, maybe less. 4OS2 for copying only the
files that have changed is free.

Then just copy your entire computer to the storage box. And you have a
backup that is real files, no compression. If you want one file or a
whole tree just copy it to where you want it. A decent file manager helps.
