Given how long you have used eCS/OS2 and the numerous times it's been 
covered in presentations and articles, I somewhat surprised you don't know 
what it is.  I guess this g gives more validity to my statement that OS/2 
users tend to live in caves. :-)

Checkini is one of the tools in the package.  Make a Desktop backup, using 
your preferred tool, and then run 
  checkini /c 
You will get a lot of prompts.  If you don't understand a particular 
prompt, write it down and ask questions.

This is a sign of WPS corruption.  Hopefully, checkini will help you 
correct this.  It may also resolve a lot of other annoying little Desktop 
problems you have been ignoring. 
When did you install this copy of eCS/OS2?

You have used OS/2 long enough so that you should know that this is 
exactly the type of response this sort of action will produce.  It's not 
going to hurt anything, but it is a waste of your time.
