Hard to know. Perhaps they did not make that many, but they probably made
more than you think. The same basic MB layout is used produce several
models.

Consider that Apple has sold over 100 million iPods and over 1 million
iPhones. With a world population in the 6 billion range, it's relatively
easy to sell 1 million of something.
