How are you going to edit ABOUT:CONFIG if the app is NOT running. What
you don't edit while the app is running is prefs.js, because the changes
will be ignored; the previous gets written over it at app exit.

You can edit prefs.js, but most of the settings you will have to first
add before you can edit because default settings are not included in
prefs.js.
