Godaddy has changed their "backordering" process since I last used it (about a
year ago). Now they charge $18.99 which includes the monitoring and domain
name registration if they get the name for you. From what I read now there is
no time limit, before it was only good for a year. If they do not get the
domain name then you can change the name and they will try to get the new name.
You get to change the domain name until they get one and then you have to pay
again. So it looks like a better system than the previous backordering setup.
