Thanks, Mark. ISTR that the database (if the same one
I recall using in the past) can be years out of date
and otherwise of dubious accuracy. Because the info
is not current, and domains are bought / sold / traded
all the time. It seems a bit odd to me that someone
would be reaching out from many thousands of miles
away, and -- totally at random -- just happen to be
tapping ME (or at least my firewall) on the shoulder,
so to speak. If that's where it is coming from,
though, there is probably not even anyone worth
complaining to.
Incidentally, there are levels of what may turn up in
the logs. Beyond this, it goes to "Probable Port
Scan," "Port Scan", and then your more overt things
like Netbus Attack. The hardware firewall is set to
"Stealth Mode", so I guess that keeps one under the
radar for a lot of these things. But not completely
invisible.
