This may be way off in regard to your issues, but it's
been my impression that more SM problems wind up being
due to mismatched DLLs than any other cause. And this
may hold across the whole Mozilla / Gecko based
products family, including Sunbird. (I don't happen
to see that on the Dark Side: there is no equivalent
to RUN, and you can't have multiple versions
installed, but there is no DLL confusion and you *can*
have Sunbird open at the same time as your browser
&/or mail client -- if those are not together in a
suite.)
That DOSCALL trap seems a puzzler, though . . . .
