I read Martin's e-mail about opening his .HTML file using his browser,
and started playing around.
In the OS/2 Desktop Guide, I searched for "association", and found
"Creating an HTML Data-File Object", which says:
You can create a Desktop object for an HTML data-file and associate the
object with a program, such as your favorite web brower or an HTML
editor. This association enables you to open the HTML file in a web
browser or editor by double-clicking on the data-file object.
You can create an HTML data-file object by copying one of the HTML
sample files in the Internet Templates folder.
1.Double-click on Internet Templates.
2.Point to the HTML sample.
3.Press and hold Ctrl.
4.Press and hold mouse button 2.
5.Drag the object to the Desktop or another folder.
6.Release Ctrl.
7.Release mouse button 2.
8.Type the name of the new HTML file in the Rename object to: field.
9.Click on OK.
Well, I copied the template to the desktop (steps 1 thru 7). Then I
couldn't find any "Rename object to:" field. And, not only that, but I
can't find how to delete this template from my desktop. Then I learned
that I haven't been making desktop backups as I boot this system, so the
newest saved desktop I have is quite old.
How do I get rid of this template from my desktop?
Colin
