It did, but even after replicating all the TCP/IP
notebook settings, the laptop does NOT connect.
Instead of a "Can't find the Server" message, it just
gives a blank screen with a "Wait" clock. This is a
TP A21M. RC4 installed GenMac for it. My
recollection is that this worked at another location,
over DHCP, but that was a couple months ago, and I
can't confirm it now. Speculations: GenMac doesn't
like a static IP ? OR, I have some faint recall that
the cable between the firewall box and the computer
might be of the crossover variety (?) If so, this
never bothered the Shuttle box . . . . (But now I'm
thinking that if there is a crossover, wouldn't it
more likely be between the DSL modem and the firewall
?)
Incidentally, PCI reports the A21 as having an Intel
82559ER Fast Ethernet Controller -- if that is the
right identifier for the built-in NIC. I did not see
an installer match for that at time of install.
