Following Jerry's presentation on VirtualBox on Saturday, I vowed to give it a
try! I installed VirtualBox with few problems. I can get the DFSee bootable CD
to run.

Trying to boot from the eCS 1.2 CD (ecs12cd1.iso) in order to install to a
virtual disk works initially, but traps just before switching to the installer's
graphical mode. See Vbox_eCS_.1.2.png.

Trying to boot from ecs20rc4_cd1_en.iso to install to a virtual disk traps at
about the same place as above. See VBox_eCS2.0RC4.png.

Red Hat & Knoppix versions of linux seem to work OK. I got one of them to
install to a virtual disk.

The one I really want to get working is Windows 2000 Professional. Not having an
ISO file at hand, I tried to create one from the CD I do have using
mkisofs2.exe. This is my first attempt at using this program for any purpose!

I type: mkisofs2 -o WIN2K_FULL.ISO S:\
I get: Invalid node - S:: -1 (23)

After several more iterations with the same result, I copied the entire CD to a
directory on a hard drive:

XCOPY S:\*.* H:\WIN2KFULL /h/o/t/s/e/r/v

That seemed to work, so:

mkisofs2 -o WIN2K_FULL.ISO H:\WIN2KFULL

No errors there, so next I tried to install Win2kPro from WIN2K_FULL.ISO
I get an immediate error:

FATAL: Could not read from the boot medium! System halted.

Obviously, something is wrong with the CD > ISO conversion. I have looked at the
man pages, but, typical of *nix programs, there are so many options that I can't
hope to test them all.

Can anyone tell me how to get the .ISO file created properly?

Thanks!
