In regard to yesterday's post, I _have_ been trying to
research this myself. Steve Wendt's WarpZilla Tips
page talks about Chrome corruption, near the end. I
tried deleting XUL.MFL from the profile and letting SM
recreate it. That did not work. He also discusses
some more radical chrome surgery. I'll try that too;
the # of plugins and extensions on this side -- as
compared with on the Dark Side -- is not so much, so
if that stuff goes out the window it's not too big a
deal.
In the SM newsgroups, I saw a couple items about
FT2Lib not covering the new version install, for some
reason.
The only other thing I can think of is that for every
Moz or SM version I can recall installing (whether
official or from Peter W.), an appropriate GCC.Dll
*had to be* present at install time in the install
directory. In this case, I was using GCC335. Can
having the wrong version present at the install mess
everything up like this ?
Or am I barking up the wrong tree here, re all of the
above ? Most of the references I found via Google to
that "communicator:workmode" corrupted display were
dealing with Linux or Mac versions of SM, a few to
Win, and none that I recall for us.
