There's stable and there's stable. It's stable to enough to build the
Mozilla apps and the latest release of kmp and several other significant
apps. However, it's still a work in progress.

This appears to be the developer's home page.

You will probably have to patch the serial port IO code the use the OS/2
COM IOCTLs, but this should be simple.
