In the table, what do we need besides the following:
1. A set of lines for every "group" and every individual user (a
"group" is one or more files that can be assigned to an individual user;
its purpose is to make it easier for the administrator to assign files)
2. An option so that the lines can subtract as well as add either a
group or a specific set of files (so the administrator can easily remove
access to one or more files that are on an assigned wildcard path or in
an assigned group)
3. The "alternative" (virtual) file name and/or directory (so the user
doesn't know the true file system layout)
Does anyone know anything else that should be in the table, or that
they'd like to see in the table?
Should this be the same table that also specifies optional flags for
specific users so the administrator doesn't have to open more than one
file to update a user's profile (flags like turning a log file on or
off, or disallowing certain ftp commands, etc.)
