That's inconvenient for you though isn't it!

Well, in a real language you can specify shared or not, and usually it is not by
default. Rexx must have decided to implement read-sharing as a default and only
behaviour.

Well, yes they would work, but I don't think they will be automatically
destroyed if your program crashes (since there is no 'program' running, except
cmd.exe) unless you ran the Rexx script with a separate cmd.exe. AFAIK.
