If you do it by modules, the pieces are small enough. My Paradox DOS code
for G/L is only about 5K lines, including comments and blank lines. It
does batch entry, posting, reporting, generalized BS and PL and infinite
calendar. It doesn't do budgets and if I were going to beef it up I would
add one or two fields to the G/L journal.

The other modulules will be similar in size. If the database design is
clean, there's just not that much code.

I suspect the code size would be similar if it were redone in DBExpert.
If I were to just sit down and do it, it would be less than a weeks work
to convert to DBExpert. I know this because I converted it from DBXL, a
DBase III clone, to Paradox a couple of years ago and I was easy because
Paradox has much better screen handling than DBXL.

A good, from scratch, FTP client is a lot of work.

I've got a couple of other internet apps in mind. However, I need to
contact the authors.
