Subject: SCOUG-Programming: Starting Over From Scratch?

Content Type: text/plain

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Long before I had any network, I installed peer networking when I did
my initial OS/2 setup. That was a LONG time ago and I don't recall the
name and password that I used for the install...
When I try and fix this by reinstalling peer networking, I get dumped
out of the install. I have tried a few tricks, but the install still
dumps me no matter what I try. I get the splash screen for the
install, then when I click OK things die.
Are there any tricks to get peer networking to re-install? Or do I
have to start over and install OS/2 from scratch? (My tricks so far:
Shorten the PATH and DPATH to include only the key directories; REM out
all references to 4OS2 and replace them with CMD.EXE; and run
PEERINST.EXE from the command line. When I run from the command line I
get:
LSI0005: C:\ibmlan\install\PEERINST.PGM failed to load.)
Any suggestions? And if I do have to reinstall, what is the
recommended order for installing OS/2, fixpacks, and applications.
