I ran dir /s because any SNMP .hlp/.inf filename *might* contain the
string "snmp".

Yes. Silly me -- I thought it would be obvious to IBM that someone
looking for SNMP info would assume they indexed it on the keyword
"SNMP".

My CONFIG.SYS has:

SET
BOOKSHELF=G:\OS2\BOOK;H:\BonusPak\askpsp\books;G:\MMOS2;g:\tcpip\help;h:\GU20;

What's your CONFIG.SYS "SET BOOKSHELF=" look like?

Tends to crash here too. Workaround here (found by lots of "what if?"
testing) is to _not_ run it full-screen. When I run it in a small
window it doesn't crash. There's a window size (about two-thirds of my
1600x1200 iirc) at which it crashes. Might be an unusual call sequence
that my Elsa driver can't handle -- haven't tried SciTech to see if that
works better.

No got.

A search for snmp here using view turns up 1 hit on "all sections" and 8
hits on "all libraries" (but two of them are duplicates). How did you
get 100's of hits?

One of the hits says to see the "SystemView Agent for OS/2 User's
Guide". No got that either. The hit's page says:

The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) provides a
means for managing an internet environment. SNMP allows
network management by elements, such as gateways, routers,
and hosts. Network elements act as servers and contain
management agents, which perform the management functions
requested. Network management stations act as clients;
they run the management applications, which monitor and
control the network. SNMP provides a means of
communicating between these elements and stations so they
can send and receive information about network resources.
SNMP support is provided by the SystemView Agent.

For more information about network management, see RFCs
1155, 1157, 1187, and 1213. For information about the
SystemView Agent, see the SystemView Agent for OS/2 User's
Guide.

Searching on "SystemView" turns up nothing further.

So, like, Mr. Steven, what's the answer to my paragraph 1 question --
"what are these agents?" You no got?
