That's because you don't have lxlite installed.

Among other things, it's a compression tool for .exe's and .dll's. It
should be on Hobbes. It may be on the SCOUG CD. If not we should add

Doesn't matter. Use whatever works. It's probably a good idea to use
gnumake since it's part of the GNU toolkit.
