This is my third fire disaster and my second water disaster. And my
first time being evacuated.

Water: my 1000 sq.ft. office in L.A. was flooded by a broken water
supply line. Previous disaster was when I was Chief Engineer at
Watermark/A.B.C., and Studio A was flooded by an overflowing toilet in
the executive washroom which nobody noticed until the ceiling collapsed.

Fire: read the paper for the current scenario. Previous disasters were
the six alarm KADI station fire where, as Chief Engineer, I went in with
the first fire crew to show them where the transmitter room was and so
they wouldn't get lost in the studio maze [wow those fire hoses pump a
lot of water] and the Waterman Canyon fire a number of years ago which
came up to Rimforest where I owned a home. Anyway, I'll now be building
some new houses in addition to everything else I'm involved in.

You know what's so eery about walking through the woods right after the
fire has gone through and the trees are still blazing? It is so quiet.
There is nothing to make any noise -- no bushes, no leaves, no birds or
critters. And the ash, several inches deep, is still _hot_ (and so are
your feet). And there is absolutely no color; everything is black and
gray except for the remaining tongs of fire still licking out from the
fallen trees. And there are no bugs. A forest with no bugs. It is
just plain spooky.
