In the new OS/2 VOICE issue is this page:

  http://www.os2voice.org/VNL/past_issues/VNL0903H/vnewsn3.htm

Near the bottom is an August 10 entry for IBM VisualAge SmallTalk. It's
free for a number of different platforms (OS/2, Linux, Windows, Solaris,
Netware, AIX, etc).

Follow the OS/2 VOICE directions to find the download link from IBM.

I downloaded the OS/2 version -- about 80 MB for the three .zip files.
I haven't unzipped them yet, but I did "unzip -t" test them to make sure
they were good.

I don't know anything about SmallTalk but I've always wanted to learn
it. If it snows down here in San Diego and the streets are closed, I'll
have time to take a look at it.

Lynn, there might be some good ideas in SmallTalk. It's a well-regarded
language.

I'm a week behind just in loading new software (Harry Motin's program
for example). I don't know what deranged neuron sparked me into
downloading this thing.

My language portfolio wish list gets longer and longer. Java, Prolog,
SmallTalk, APL, SNOBOL . . . (I'm enticing Lynn into a free-for-all.)
