Subject: SCOUG-Programming: email server

These are the default canned messages supplied with CommuniGate. From the
brief time that the test list has been up it is obvious that some of these need
changing.

So look these messages over and make your suggestions.

Messages sent to LISTNAME-xxx where xxx is one of the following "on, off,
subscribe, unsubscribe, feed, digest, index" are executed as immediate commands.

Messages sent to -request and -admin are sent to the list owner not to the list.

Messages sent to -yyy (where yyy is not in the lists above) are rejected
(bounced).

If you want to send a HELP request to get the list of commands supported you
need to send a message to "listserver@DOMAIN". You also send those commands to
the "listserver@DOMAIN" to be executed.

Variables used in the canned messages.

^N - the listname string
^D - the domain string
^E - the "Description" setting (this is the description of the list)
^X - the sequence number of the current digest

confirmation message
^O - the requested operation
^P - "unsubscribe" for the "unsubscribe" and "subscribe operations and
"subscribe(operation)" for other operations
^A - the subscribers address
^I - the confirmation identifier

digest
^X - the message sequence number in the digest being composed
^F - the "From" header field of the message
^T - the "Date" header field of the message
^S - the "Subject" header field of the message
^I - the "Message-Id" header of the message

The asterisks are not part of the message, just used to delimit the message.
