I've been unable to get my in-laws to straighten out, so perhaps you can
straighten *me* out.

So "validation" is sort of like "take it for a test drive and see how it
handles," yes? You already know the program runs; you just want to see
if the public will think it's a Jag or an Edsel, yes?
