Subject:	SCOUG-Programming: Aaugh! PL/I !!!

So I'm all set to write some PL/I code to do some work on the SCOUG
Server (like massage the InetMail logs and find out why some messages
are looping) and I suddenly realize that this isn't a private endeavour,
it's the SCOUG Server for duck's sake, and if I get hit by a runaway
garbage truck then who will maintain the source code? I mean, there
isn't a PL/I compiler available out there "for free" or even "for a
reasonable price". I think.

Say it ain't so, Joe! Say we can win, Lynn! Where can I get a
close-to-free preferably-open-source PL/I compiler so I can write SCOUG
Server code in PL/I instead of something nefarious (Rexx) or ugly (C)?
I'm not handing over my VisualAge PL/I Enterprise to the next SCOUG
Webmaster so if nuthin's available then I'm scootin' to some other
language . . .
