I believe that I have some limited knowledge of C-programming, pointers, structures
and such. It's not as great as yours, but I'm progressing.
I also believe that you misunderstand the purpose/intent of the C-code that I'm
attempting. I want a to create an executable that will query all of the objects on my
desktop, find their details and write the results to an ASCII file. I'm NOT looking for a
DLL, because I'm NOT trying to create new classes or new methods. I simply want to
use the existing WPS class query methods and output the results to a file. And because
of all that I don't see why I cannot create an executable from C-code to do that???? I its
true that later on I will create a DLL, because ultimately I want to output the results to a
REXX program.
Based on the above, why, in your mind,is an executable STILL not possible?
Now, I cannot get the job done directly by using REXX only. The Object REXX online
documentation warns not to use WPS methods that require INOUT or OUT parameters.
The WPPROGRAM method, wpQueryProgDetails, falls under that category and the
documentation SPECIFICALLY warns against using that particular method. Therefore, I
have to get the job done via C-code.
