Please, please, please..................
How about a language sepcification.... (Pretty please with
sugar on top.)
Please, something less abstract than "PL/I extended with APL
and Prolog proof processing." (And no BNF or plain language
specifications in English: That would be wasteful duplication
of effort that would hurt our productivity. The complete SL/I
specificaion in SL/I would be a start.)
How about the Developers Assistant specification?
Ain't got no code.... But we have process.
Ain't got no specifications.... But we have process.
Ain't got no tools.... But we have process.
With appologies to Lewis Carroll:
Speak roughly to your little VAX,
And boot it when it crashes;
It knows that one cannot relax
Because the paging thrashes!
Wow! Wow! Wow!
I speak severely to my VAX,
And boot it when it crashes;
In spite of all my favorite hacks
My jobs it always thrashes!
Wow! Wow! Wow!
And now back to our thrash about high-level abstractions like
process and productivity. Our road trip in our 1976 Pinto to
Honolulu has no need for a roadmap since all we are concerned
with is our destination. (And why does Hawaii have interstate
highways?)
