Chat sessions don't always represent the best use of time.
Right now I'm engaged in a chat session with VOICE regarding
possible acquisition and enhancement to PMMail. I suspect it
will end before completing this message.
As my "research" into the Watcom source code occurs only
sporadically and infrequently, so far I have only come up with
the APIs for the editor. I see nothing which refers to the edior
itself or anything that looks like source code. That's puts
something of a damper on the development process I had in
mind.
Meanwhile I did a bit of research on Amazon.com looking for
books on OS/2 Presentation Manager programming. I came up
with two which I have purchased from "used" (like new) book
dealers: Petzold "OS/2 Presentation Manager Programming"
and Knight "Learning to Program OS/2 2.0 Presentation
Manager by Examples". They both come reasonbly priced,
even for one on a fixed income, even if you include shipping
and handling.
So we may have to step a bit further back to some basic open
source OS/2 editor with a GUI and then come forward in our
development from the snippets we can obtain from other
sources. I don't really sweat it as understanding and success
with Presentation Manager will give us the background and
confidence for everything which comes after that point.
Let me know what you think.
