Greg,

As Bob has chosen to use C data types in his examples instead
of their native PL/I form, translating his source into C you
should find straightforward. In fact I remember that in his
earlier examples he offered both forms.

That said you do have a PL/I option. I downloaded two .zip
files from the IBM site which I unzipped and did no more with
as I already had a number of purchased PL/I versions to use. I
see that one of the unzip versions comes as a trial version
with a 60-day period from the install date. I assume that you
could just reinstall it after that point and so on until we had
our own open source interpreter/compiler.

The second .zip, which is half the size of the first, doesn't
come with a read.me, but appears to be the same version.
Either one should work for you or anyone else interested. I
know of no reason why we can't place them in an ftp site for
downloading. I can make (in fact have) a CD which anyone
can copy. We may be able to get it included on the SCOUG CD
of the month.

If you have a ftp site available to you, I can upload either one
or both, which you can then download and use. Just give me
the ftp address and access keys so that I can do so.

Just let me know which method you prefer.
