Content Type: text/plain

Greg,

Perhaps you could make clearer why you would want to bring
this up for discussion in the Programming SIG. Do you want to
produce a comparative evaluation of different open source
project management tools? Or do you want to set out the
minimal project management features students might need to
do what you feel necessary?

I would imagine the Programming SIG receptive to a general
discussion on project management and its applicability to
software development. I have yet to respond to an RFP over
the past two years which didn't specify the use of Microsoft
Project. Depending on your project management experience,
you do have a learning curve when it comes to Microsoft
Project.

What features do you actually need? What product comes
closest in terms of features and ease of use? Maybe if you
presented us with your sample Gantt Chart, we can work
together to come up with an open source solution.
