SCOUG OS/2 For You - July 1998
Internet SIG Happenings
by Dave Watson
The Internet SIG last month looked at two new pure Java applications. The fabulous new email program from Innoval, J Street Mailer, runs great on Warp, Windows, Linux, Mac, and other platforms with a current Java run time compiler. Write once, run anywhere seems to work! We also set up ICQ for Java, a great new "buddy list" utility to find out when your friends and family are on the net so you can exchange messages with them immediately. See the ISIG web site
http://www.deltanet.com/~dwatson/inet.html
for details of how to set these up.
Make use of the new SCOUG-Internet mailing list (scoug-internet@scoug.com) for discussing Internet related topics. Also, whenever you set up and use new Internet apps, make notes so we can add them to our library of how-to guides. And check the ISIG web site for researching application setup and use. Let me know if there are new apps you need support for and we'll work it together. I can be reached at dave@scoug.com
