SCOUG OS/2 For You - November 1998

Internet SIG Happenings

by Dave Watson

We won't have an Internet SIG meeting in November while we are looking for a new meeting place. (The OCIPUG space we've been using is no longer available.) We've traditionally not had a SIG meeting in December. Please watch the web site for new plans as they are decided, and let us know what you want.

What we will be doing in November is working with the General Interest Group on the 21st to introduce an important group communications method - Internet Relay Chat. We'll survey a set of free or inexpensive utilities, show how easy it is to use them, and introduce some upcoming SCOUG forums using these tools. This is an important new path for SCOUG -- we hope you'll join us!
