The President's Message
by Steve Schiffman
This month you will find a couple of changes to our SIG's and their
meeting dates. Internet SIG leader Dave Watson is not able to keep up
with the weekly IRC chat due to his frequent out of town job
assignments. We are therefore moving the Internet SIG from its current
weekly IRC chat format to being a live SIG on our 3rd Saturday of the
month meeting date. Dave Watson will continue as SIG leader. The
Internet SIG will alternate every 3 months with the General Interest SIG
giving GIG SIG leader Tony Butka time off to handle some other SCOUG
assignments.
Second, the Help Desk IRC chat will move from Monday's at 7pm to
Wednesday's at 7pm. This on-line help session, moderated by Steven
Levine (MrKIA contributor) is for discussion and help about OS/2 Warp
software, hardware, applications and networking. Join the Help Desk IRC
sessions by pointing your IRC client to the #SCOUG channel at
irc.ca.webbnet.org. This chat channel is provided to us by Suntrix
Systems, www.webbnet.org. We thank them for their support.
The live Help Desk SIG continues on its normal schedule of the Monday
night after the 3rd Saturday of the month at 7pm at Eastside Christian
School - Heritage Campus in the school's computer lab. This is the time
for you to bring in your computer and software to get assistance
resolving problems you may be encountering with OS/2 Warp. We can also
provide assistance in getting you computer to work on a network
including access via an xDSL line or cable modem.
