Board Report for Monday April 23, 2001

SCOUG's newly elected Board -- Tony Butka, Sheridan George, Carla Hanzlik, Steven Levine, Dallas Legan, Greg Smith, Lynn Maxson, Randell Flint and Robert Blair -- took their seats at Monday evening's Board meeting and quickly got down to business.

On corporate status, the Board welcomed guest Patrick Tantrophol, a CPA and SCOUG member. Treasurer Steven and Secretary Carla reviewed SCOUG's corporate status for Patrick, including the report from past-President Steve Schiffman on a meeting with attorney Jon Mercant, and the Board asked Patrick for his insight. Patrick offered some preliminary thoughts on SCOUG's tax issues and incorporation, and President Tony Butka and Treasurer Steven Levine will meet with CPA Patrick in the next week to review the situation in-depth.

Warp Expo West 2001 was discussed and a WEW2001 committee meeting is scheduled for this coming Sunday. The committee will report back to the Board with recommendations after that meeting.

The new Board approved their platform's slogan -- "the coffee and donuts coalition" -- and members will now have free coffee and donuts at meetings.

The meeting ended with a hearty "Thank You!" for the outgoing Board members, and the next Board meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thursday May 24.

Members interested in helping with Warp Expo West should contact Dallas Legan. Members interested in helping with other SCOUG activities should contact any Board member.
