DFSee, which has been presented by Tony Butka at previous SCOUG general
meetings, is now at version 9.15 as of 03/21/2009. It is a FDISK,
display, analysis, and recovery tool for disks and file systems. It
includes the ability to resize FAT and FAT32 partitions, and has some
JFS and LVM support. Go to http://www.dfsee.com/.

DCRaw version 8.92 has been released as of 03/05/2009, along with
version 0.49 of the "vcd" experimental version. This is a digital

MagicDraw UML version 16.5 beta 1 has been released as of 03/02/2009.

WPIView version 1.1 alpha 5 has been released as of 03/17/2009. This
is a utility to view, install, and extract WarpIN packages. Go to

JGraphpad version 6.0.7.1 has been released as of 03/26/2009. This is a
Java-based powerful, free diagram editor that allows you to create flow
charts, maps, UML diagrams, and more. Go to

FlashBlock version 1.5.9 (for Firefox 1.5.x and later) and version
1.3.12 (for SeaMonkey and other Mozilla browsers) have been released as
of 03/25/2009. This is a Mozilla / Firefox extension that replaces
Flash animations with a "click to play" placeholder. Go to

Privoxy (formerly known as JunkBuster) is now at version 3.0.12 as of
03/25/2009. This is a web proxy with advanced filtering capabilities
for protecting privacy, filtering web page content, managing cookies,
controlling access, and removing ads, banners, pop-ups, and other

PHPMyAdmin version 3.1.3.1 has been released as of 03/24/2009. This is
a set of PHP scripts to administer MySQL over the Web. Go to

- Gnash version 0.8.5 has been released as of 03/05/2009. It is an
open-source Flash movie player. It supports many, but not all,
Flash version 7 features. Go to

is a free software suite to create, edit, and compose bitmap images.

- PHP 5.2.9 has been released as of 03/19/2009. It is a widely-used
general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web
development and can be embedded into HTML. Modules supported include
bz2, curl, dbase, gd, exif, filepro, gettext, mbstring, mysql,
mysqli, openssl, pdo_mysql, pdo_sqlite, pgsql, and sqlite. It
features a module for Apache 2.2, as well as
CGI and CLI versions. Go to

- UniAud version 1.9.12 has been released as of 03/23/2009. In this
release, the driver code has been updated to ALSA 1.0.19, except for
the HDA code, which is at 1.0.18a while some crashes are being
investigated. This build features better support for HDA than
earlier versions of UniAud, and will eventually become UniAud

BMI Doctor/2 version 1.15 has been released as of 03/05/2009. This is
a program to calculate body mass index and basal metabolism. Use

JAlbum version 8.2.6 has been released as of 03/15/2009. This is a web
photo album generator that requires Java 1.5. Go to

SDLMAME version 0.130 has been released as of 03/15/2009. This is a
SDL version of the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. Use search key

Libkva version 1.1.0 has been released as of 03/15/2009. This is a
library for displaying video streams, which supports SNAP video overlays,
WarpOverlay!, and DIVE. It has been used in KMP and recent ports of
MPlayer. Use search key libkva on Hobbes.
DVD/CD Toys version 0.04.01 has been released as of 03/23/2009. This
is a set of utilities to burn CD and DVD disks, and ISO images. Go to

Sonix USB PC Camera version 1.0 has been released. This program allows
you to view images and take snapshots with the Sonix USB PC camera. Go

SearchPlus version 1.6 has been released as of 03/09/2009. This tool
does simultaneous multiple file searches, including in zip archives.
Search criteria can include contents, file size, file date, attributes,
and actions can include edit, open, delete, copy, move, execute. Use

DejaVu fonts version 2.29 has been released as of 03/08/2009. This is
a font family based on the Bitstream Vera Fonts, which provides support
for a wide range of Unicode characters. Go to

jRipper version 1.0 has been released as of 03/08/2009. This is a CD
ripper and audio converter that supports WAV, Flac, MP3, OGG, and AAC
formats. It requires Java 1.4. Go to

Art of Illusion version 2.7.1 has been released as of 03/08/2009. This
is a full-featured 3D modelling, rendering, and animation studio that

ACDataSeeker version 0.5.1 beta has been released as of 03/22/2009.
This is a multi-threaded PM text and file finder, intended as a
replacement for PMSEEK.EXE. Use search key acdata on Hobbes.
Lua version 5.1.4 has been released as of 03/19/2009. This is a powerful,
fast, lightweight, and embeddable scripting language used in various
scientific and commercial applications (and even some games). Go to

Agena version 0.13.2 has been released as of 03/24/2009. This is an
interpreted language suited for sophisticated procedural programming,
with syntax like simplified ALGOL 68, with elements taken from Lua (see

Btrieve Commander has been updated as of 03/19/2009. This is a Btrieve

A number of XCenter widgets are available as of 03/19/2009. Included
are a batter widget for notebooks and UPSs, a temperature widget, a USB
monitor, a firewall widget, a POP3 mail checker widget, and a weather

wxWidgets (formerly known as wxWindows) is now at version 2.8.10 as of
03/17/2009. This is a sophisticated cross-platfor C++ framework for
writing advanced GUI applications using (where possible) the native

WDSibyl has been updated as of 03/17/2009. This is an open-source
continuation of the commercial product Sibyl, which is a Pascal/Delphi

EMT4PM version 4.38 has been released as of 02/08/2009. It is a PM
utility to build disk images, and write images to disk. Go to

Addcr/Delcr has been released as of 03/27/2009. This is a more versatile
version of the unix2dos / dos2unix newline conversion utility, which
accepts filenames with wildcards, recurses into subdirectories, and can
either convert files in-place or convert & copy them to a target

ArgoUML version 0.28 has been released as of 03/24/2009. This is a
modelling tool written in Java to help you do your design using UML.

SmartCVS version 7.0.6 has been released as of 03/23/2009. This is a
Java CVS GUI client, with features like built-in File Compare/Merge,
transaction display or List Repository Files, etc. It requires Java

Borg version 1.7.1 has been released as of 03/14/2009. This is a Java
calendar app, with RDBMS support, a simple address book, and task

GenealogyJ version 2.4.5 has been released as of 03/23/2009. This is a
program for handling all of your genealogical information in a
graphical way. This requires Java 1.5. Go to http://genj.sourceforge.net/.

- MySQL version 5.1.32 has been released as of 03/06/2009. It is the
world's most widely-used open-source database. The OS/2 port features
named pipes, data replication, databases > 2GB, and more. Go to

- CUPS version 1.3.9, Gutenprint version 5.2.3, and Splix version 1.1.1
have been updated as of 03/20/2009. CUPS is the Common Unix Printing
System; the goal is to improve the printing support in eComStation.
Splix is for use with Samsung or Xerox printers. Go to

- The CUPS port driver is at

standard OS/2 printing subsystem to interface with CUPS.
