That's what Patrick was looking for -- a way to make it work. Can you tell me what files
 need to be copied?

I'm clueless, I've never had need to run os3 strickly from the CMD line, so I've never
considered, what would be necessary!

I'd suggest dropping a message in the comp.os.os2.networking newsgroup and see if anyone has a
suggestion!

Mike, you seem pretty knowledgeable in this subject. Does Patrick just need to modify his
CONFIG.SYS and copy the necessary files from another machine that's got the TCP/IP stack set
up the way he wants it? This would allow him to boot from a copy of his installation
diskettes and press Alt-F1 at the bootup white box, then choose a Command Line boot, and he
 should be all set.

That would be my educated guess,.. worse case is he'd just waste so time trying it! :)

I'd suggest that he try installing a BOOTOS2 maintenance partition on the target computer!
I full install is 12MB or a partial is a minimum of 5MB as I recall. This way he could boot
to a CMD prompt in just a few seconds.

Or do you know of something else that needs to be taken care of as well?

nope, nothing that i can think of off-hand
