Subject: SCOUG-General: [Editorial] Manage And Lead (fwd)

Content Type: text/plain

Thanks Peter for remininding us about our future.

1) Newsgroup:

I wish we can utilize computer for our computer club such as posting
what's going on in meetings and distribute via e-mails such as this nice
newsgroup medium.

2) Up to date demos:

Demo or comments on whenever there's new consumer technology such as:

2a) How to get a popular scanner from Best Buy to work with OS/2 (that
means USB, not SCSI)

2b) How to get a popular connection from Digtal Camera to OS/2 (that
usually USB, not SCSI)

2c) How to get Sony Mavica Digital Camera Memory stick to work with OS/2
via a floppy adapter

2d) How to make a popular connection from Digital Video Camera to OS/2
(that's usually Firewire ieee 1394 FireWire I-link)

2e) DVD movies viewable in native OS/2

2f) How to connect to different dorms/libraries in universities.

2g) How to connect to ISDN, DSL, cables...

2h) How to use portable MP3 players with OS/2...

May be these don't work with OS/2 but at least we should be aware and may
be we can become activists for unethical treatment of OS/2 someday (How
about if we just model after those protesters of Unethical Treatment of
Animals and make sure we suck in our tummys real well when them press
people arrive for photo ops :)

3) Activism:

3a) May be we can campaign to make RealPlayer for OS/2 so I can enjoy many
websites such as abcnews, cnn.... Linux that came after us but has
already got its own RealPlayer and OS/2 came before it and can't even have
one :(

3b) It would be a great idea to solicit news coverage from local/national
cables, newspapers. Come on, let's get Kim Cheung on televisions
including Digital Duo and Computer Chronicles from PBS.

In the mean time, my motto is "no news means good news." As long as the
club is harmonious and not disintegrated then I am happy :)

Good job everyone. Good night :)
