If you had kept up on your Mr. KIA reading you would know the answer to
this.
Normally, you would not need to delete anything, you would just run
archinst. However, given your problems, let me suggest a somewhat
different procedure.
- delete everything under \os2\archives
- do not delete the \os2\archives directory
- run unimaint until it reports no errors
- shutdown and reboot
- run unimaint again until it reports no errors
- try checkini
This will clean up a lot of errors. You may need to reset some attributes
to get everything to delete.
If checkini is still broken, run it as:
checkini /s /w
zip up the log and let me see it.
To rebuild the desktop archive run:
archinst
fromt the command line
Note, that you really only need the archive to allow you to boot to the
command line. Archinst creates \os2\boot\config.x. You should be using
Unimaint for your Desktop backups. It does a much better job than program
supplied by IBM.
