Okay, that rules out everything else.
Since you hear beep codes, the motherboard itself is running.

Good thinking.
Your timing is terrible, by the way. The monthly SCOUG Help Desk was
_last_ Sunday.

That would be what I would do next. If you have a non-PCI video card
you can try installing it and booting up -- the motherboard BIOS will
check for anything else wrong with the system, you can look at the CMOS
settings, and you can look at the bootup PCI Device Listing table to see
if there's anything unusual.
