Hi Steven
you asked:
> How else would you expect NVC to do scan on load like it does?

That's correct but I assume / believe that the way of how Norman
implements NVC
into OS/2 causes the behavior:
i.e. BASEDEV=NVCHOOK
ie. NYMSE.DLL
!!!

I am sure without these deep integration I could stop NVC as a
working task ...
... but like this it seems impossible ;-((

If NVC is a (n important system) task like, let's compare with
IBM Anti Virus, called by
a startup.cmd entry or a RUN statement in the CONFIG.SYS it may
do the same job
but without disturbing the behavior of the WPS !?

Myself I dislike the implementation of NVC into WPS !!!

The WPS is my desk and no third party products have to be fixed
there ...
... next time every Backup SW will do too and then so forth ...

I see NVC as an inportant application with a folder and its
objects somewhere
I want it to have placed i.e. a folder System Tools !

Well, I will stop here ...
... will keep you informed if Norman reacts to my message ;-)

Thats' the best solution. Until they respond, there's not way to
know if
the problem is unique to your setup. Lot's of folks run both
Unimaint and
NVC and the is not a problem I've seen reported before.

Steven
