Hi Gary
you wrote that you would replace NT if you could ;-)
You can !
With VPC/2 you can use NT as a Guest System and your NT system is
out ;-))

Have you checked this possibility ?
If yes, you know already ...
if not, here is a link:

Subject:	SCOUG-Help: How would you answer?

Butch,
I use OS/2 because it works, and works rather well. I like being
able to do
things my own way and the underlying design of the WPS lets me do
that. I have
the option of using NT4 Workstation (which is installed on the
"C" partition of
my ThinkPad) but the ThinkPad runs Warp between 90%-95% of the
time. I use NT
for doing 35mm film scanning and just about nothing else. If I
could find an
OS/2 utility that could access all the features of my Nikon
LS-2000 scanner NT
would probably never get booted.

I have used "big iron" systems (mostly VM/CMS -- which certainly
dates me),
various flavors of Windows; I have been using OS/2 in all its
incarnations
since 1.1 Extended Edition was issued in 1985 or 1986 (I have a
PS/2 Model 70
that has never had a hard drive formatted in anything other than
HPFS); I have
even tinkered a bit with UNIX -- which can be daunting. But OS/2
is the system
that I find most intuitive of all the systems I've been exposed
to.

If OS/2 quit meeting me needs, I'd be shopping like mad for an
alternative. I
haven't upgraded to eCS -- yet -- because Warp4 still serves all
my needs. I
may spring for a couple of eCS licenses next year, though, just
so that I can
stay current on maintenance.

Sorry for being so wordy. Hope this helps.
