What does it mean when you keep geteing the error "Compaction Failed," during attempts
to compress the mail folders ? Does it relate to the aggregate size of your
*retained* mail (i.e., all the mail you're not prepared to scrub from storage, because
it may still have some reference value) ? I've mentioned before that some of my mail
folder indices were apparently hosed, but I think I rebuilt most of these. It is hard
to be sure which of the folders may be choking during the compression attempt. I
believe most of them do in fact get compressed.
I'm running the NS 4.61 build from last June or July -- the one that was on the Nov.
