It's a BootManager/os2ldr issue. Anything based on WSeB code
(eCS/MCP/etc) support booting from above the 1K cylinder limit.

IDE drives have lied about the geometry since they went beyond the 512MB
limit and perhaps before in some cases. This is sector translation and
really has nothing to do with LBA. With LBA, there is an additional
command set which addresses the drive by logical sector number. The
traditional CHS method is still there along with its limits.
