I am having to reinstall from scratch since a major screw-up wiped out
all of my boot partitions. If I boot from the CD, I get a message that
the system cannot operate my hard drive, even though I have selected the
SYM_HI SCSI driver.
If I boot from diskettes, it gets to the end of the third diskette and
then I get a whole string of errors that it can't find files on the CD.
The error messages rip past too fast fo me to see the first one, so I
can't figure out what is wrong.
My system is as follows:
Tyan S2460 motherboard with a single Athlon 1.2 GHz cpu
256 MB ECC RAM
Symbios LSI21002 Dual Channel SCSI host adapter:
(BIOS set to boot from channel B)
Channel A:
Plextor CD-ROM
Plextor CD-RW
Conner CTMS3200 tape drive
Channel B:
IBM 9.1 GB hard drive
IBM 36 GB hard drive
Ecrix VXA tape drive
Matrox G450 32MB video card
IBM 10/100 NIC
SB Live! Value sound card
There are NO IDE devices.
I am trying to install to an HPFS partition on the 9.1 GB drive.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions? I can't log on to
ecomstation.com to download any fixes to help in this situation because
my password is buried in a data partition on the subject system.
Thanks for any help that you can provide! I'm getting desperate (forced
to use a Windoze system to send this)!
